The charming village of Panormo located in the center of the northern Cretan coastline and adjacent to the national highway, making it an ideal starting point from which to visit other interesting areas of Crete. Largely unspoiled and having a permanent population of some 400 people, Panormo providing a pleasing mixture of small hotels and other rented accommodation without being overly touristy. Complementing this the village boasts a good number of restaurants and tavernas in pleasant locations provide an excellent standard of Cretan cuisine. A further attraction of Panormo is the recently restored Carob-Mill called “Haroupomylos” an industrial monument converted into a cultural center, available all the year round for conferences, concerts and other cultural events. This cultural center seats about 200 people and is managed by “Epimenides” Cultural Society of Panormo.
